ParaTech’s journey began with a simple observation and a commitment to do things differently. After graduating from the US Air Force and working for a technology company that was acquired by an international firm, founder Richard Perniciaro witnessed firsthand how corporate consolidation often meant abandoning smaller clients in pursuit of only the largest accounts. Recognizing that both small-to-medium businesses and enterprise organizations deserved the same level of expertise and dedication, Richard launched a small shop in 1997 that would become New Orleans Information Services (NOIS). What started as a local operation serving the New Orleans market quickly expanded into neighboring states, proving that exceptional technology services knew no boundaries.

By 1999, growth necessitated evolution. NOIS transformed into ParaTech, consolidating operations back in New Orleans while expanding capabilities and reach. A pivotal moment came in 2005 when Jason Cleveland joined the company following a successful joint project. Jason’s vision led to the founding of our Life Safety division, which rapidly became a cornerstone of ParaTech’s offerings. His leadership earned him an equity partnership, and together with Richard, they identified another rising star: Dave Burgess. Dave’s exceptional leadership across multiple roles had established ParaTech’s IT department as a dominant force along the Gulf Coast, leading to his induction as an equity partner and Chief Technology Officer—a position where he continues to excel today.

                ParaTech’s momentum accelerated as the company earned recognition as a Veteran Owned business and gained acceptance into the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, where Richard graduated at the top of his cohort. This achievement launched an ambitious acquisition program, absorbing several competitors and expanding our client base from Mississippi to Texas. Meanwhile, Jason secured the largest life safety project in company history—a multimillion-dollar LNG plant installation where ParaTech triumphed over industry giants like Siemens and Johnson Controls. Shortly after, we were entrusted with a classified security project at Joint Base Andrews, specifically along the corridor leading to Air Force One, cementing our reputation for handling the most sensitive and complex assignments.
